Why does the solar panel crack and how to prevent it

(1) Causes of hidden cracks in solar panels
  1, the shortcomings of raw materials
  The shortcomings of raw materials are the main factor that causes cracks in the components. The quality of the raw materials of the cells directly affects the quality of the products. Cells are produced from silicon rods through processes such as growth, cutting, printing, and sintering. Insufficient purity of crystalline silicon, excessive curvature of the crystalline silicon cell sheet, and excessive horizontal and vertical shortening rate of the EVA material will cause cracks in the production of battery modules.
  2, production process error
   The production of battery modules requires sorting, single string welding, and lamination. Framing, cleaning and curing test, packaging and other links. Improper use of technology in the production process can also cause cracks in battery components. For example: the welding heating plate temperature is too low during single welding, the welding temperature is too high, the welding speed is too slow, the lamination parameter setting is unreasonable, the vacuum pressure is too high, and the vacuum pressure is too high, which will cause the component to crack.
(2) Methods to prevent hidden cracks in solar panels
 1. Strictly control the quality of the incoming materials of the battery, and reasonably select the thickness, hardness and solderability of the interconnection bar.
 2. Adhere to the relative humidity of the environment below 60%, and ensure that the cells are fully preheated before welding.
 3. The hand gestures should be light, fast, and flat in craft welding, to prevent false welding and over welding, and to prevent pressing the battery, especially on the string welding template.
 4. The welding quality of machine welding should be strictly monitored to prevent false welding, over welding and ribbon deviation.
 5. Pay attention to the EL check before lamination, try to repair the hidden cracks before lamination to prevent the expansion of the hidden cracks of the laminated structure.
 6. The laminated components should be cooled down sufficiently before the edges can be trimmed. It is advisable to use the glass side-down method for trimming and framing.
 7. The laminate before framing should be prevented from overturning and manual transfer.
